Palmer Memorial
Episcopal Church
Houston, Texas

ADDITION TO AN EXISTING HISTORICAL BUILDING

Palmer Church was originally
constructed in 1927 and at one time
served as a student center for Rice
University. With subsequent
renovations and additions over the
years, the Church has become a local landmark, rich in both history and character.

Sympathetic to the existing
architecture, the two-story wing we
designed houses education facilities
and a fellowship hall. Using similar
materials and Early Romanesque
detailing, the addition compliments
the existing courtyard and encloses
one side with an arcaded walk to the
student center next door. The Parish Hall was renovated to provide
additional education space,
administrative, library, choir rehearsal facilities and a new chapel.
