King & Spalding Houston, Texas INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE LAW OFFICE DESIGN For the Houston office of a major Atlanta law firm, the theme is “Old South with a Texas accent.” The central design feature is an eight foot wide and ten foot tall colonnade reminiscent of southern plantation homes. This serves as a sort of “Main Street” extending both directions, and connecting every area of the facility. At the top of each of the colonnade’s white pilasters is a Texas star, adding to the details which help convey the Texas accent. The multiuse Conference Center can be divided into three conference rooms or used as one room large enough for 100 people. Its videoconferencing technology allows all of the firm’s offices to view each other and/or presentations in real time. This law firm design was featured in Texas Lawyer.
