Cooper Industries, Inc. Houston, Texas INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN This Fortune 500 firm asked us to create a traditional and historically inspired corporate headquarters facility in a downtown high-rise. The challenge was to accommodate an efficient work environment in a museum-like setting which highlights the company’s extensive collection of Colonial Williamsburg antiques, artwork, oriental rugs and corporate memorabilia. Visitors are put at ease by the comfortable, residential tone of the office, which is established by a neutral color scheme, crown moldings, a traditional stair with painted balusters, a cherry handrail, and a custom carpet runner. The space offers sweeping views of downtown Houston, and architectural features such as wood paneling painted in historical colors, fireplaces and cherry paneled doors. Incandescent lighting further enhances the warmth and historic character. The hectic pace one might associate with a multi-billion dollar corporation is tempered by the traditional design. The result is a quiet, dignified environment for employees and visitors.
