Cabot Oil &
Gas Corp.
Houston, Texas
DESIGN OF CORPORATE
HEADQUARTERS IN A BUILD-TO-SUIT OFFICE BUILDING
KRHA was initially hired to
assist this
prestigious oil and gas company in
evaluating build-to-suit proposals to
house a new corporate headquarters. Once the developer
was chosen, a team effort between the building architect
and KRHA allowed critical changes to be made to accommodate
specific needs of the client.
A prominent feature of the six-story
building was a large raised area with
20-foot ceilings, which became known as the high-hat.
It was developed as an executive gathering spot and an
area for support staff. The boardroom was positioned to
take advantage of a
spectacular view of downtown Houston. A wooden grid design
added warmth to the space.
A Deli Cafe and gathering place,
as well as a training center and employee locker rooms
were provided on the ground level to serve the whole building.
The project not only met all of Cabots requirements,
was constructed significantly under budget. |
